bio
I’m a new author, currently working on my first middle grade series, The Stars of Staton. The stories within this series tackle a range of subject matter about middle school and life in general, and they are told with humor and heart.
In sixth grade, I heard someone say the following words about me…she’s not an ‘A’ student. I don’t recall inviting those words to stay, but they lived with me for the next couple of years, taking up prime real estate in my young adolescent mind. I never blamed the person who said them, but I believed them…until the day I was placed in honors ninth grade English. This was a class heavily focused on writing, and where I discovered a love for story telling. The teacher of this class singled me out to tell me that I had a talent for writing. Then, junior year of college, I heard similar words from my Film Studies professor when she said, ‘you should be writing.’ So, after careers in Video Production and Interior Design, I’m now pursuing the call to write.
I currently live in St. Louis, MO with my husband, three sons, and cat, Phoebe, otherwise known as Princess Paws. With the exception of a book I wrote in fifth grade, The Stars of Stanton is my first story written for an audience. Along with the commendatory words of my former teachers, I have more stories bouncing around inside my head, and I’m excited to share them with future readers!
