Lily

Lily Benmont is starting seventh grade at Stanton Junior High while coming to terms with her parents’ divorce. Her entire life has been transformed during a time when all she wants to do is fit in and find friends. When Lily receives an anonymous message on her social media account, her mom grows concerned and threatens to get rid of her phone. Lily can't imagine trying to make friends in junior high without the use of social media and instant messaging. But she faces a tough decision after receiving a second and then a third, more cryptic message from the same sender. Lily must determine if she's going to tell her parents and risk getting her phone taken away or try to resolve the issue on her own. When she chooses to investigate the identity of the anonymous messenger on her own, it leads her to discover that things aren’t always what they seem. In the end, Lily must face an unexpected reality as she learns what it really means to be growing up.

The image of Lily is a general idea of how I pictured her as I was writing this book. Because I’m a writer, and not a fine artist :), I created the image using AI, describing her features and her specific style. I would love to bring these characters to life by replacing these images with those created by a real life artist!
