Mia

Mia Thompson and her elementary school besties are starting seventh grade at Stanton Junior High. But when a newcomer to the group creates tension, old relationships begin to shift. Mia feels like she’s being singled out, which leads her to question who’s really in her corner. On top of that, she has the weight of a significant decision resting on her shoulders. Mia must decide if she will follow her dreams of becoming a writer for the Stanton School Newsletter or stay on the basketball team simply to salvage what’s left of her strained friendships. Ultimately, Mia risks losing sight of her goals when she considers prioritizing what others think over what she feels. But with the help of her creative writing teacher, Ms. Leighton, she discovers that she, and only she, is the writer of her story. Mia is at a crossroads, and now is the time to choose her ending.

The image of Mia is a general idea of how I pictured her as I was writing this book. Because I’m a writer, and not a fine artist :), I created the image using AI, describing her features and her specific style. I would love to bring these characters to life by replacing these images with those created by a real life artist!
