Naomi

Naomi Evan’s family has just moved to Stanton, California for her mom’s new job, which means Naomi will be starting junior high all over again as the new kid. But for Naomi, the stress of moving is overshadowed by the opportunity to live out her dream of becoming a surfer. Unfortunately, the Stanton Junior High surf team tryouts have already ended for the current season. But the coach makes an exception, allowing her to join the team as an alternate. In Naomi’s eyes, graduating from an alternate to a permanent member of the team is simply another challenge worth tackling. But her teammates feel that getting to skip tryouts is unfair, and they reject her as a member of the surf team. In a desperate attempt to find acceptance within her team, Naomi makes some questionable decisions, which set her down a ruinous path. In the end, she must turn the tide all on her own or risk losing everything…until someone unexpected shows up to help her.

The image of Naomi is a general idea of how I pictured her as I was writing this book. Because I’m a writer, and not a fine artist :), I created the image using AI, describing her features and her specific style. I would love to bring these characters to life by replacing these images with those created by a real life artist!
