Freya
Freya Hampton is the ideal student. She's smart, dedicated, and passionate about succeeding. But after missing six weeks of seventh grade due to a devastating fire that took her family’s home, she must face starting Stanton Junior High all over again. And if that weren’t hard enough, she’s jumping headfirst into Robotics Club mid-season only to discover that her teammates are flailing as they prepare for their second tournament. What started out as a promising season in robotics turns into a potential break in their longtime winning streak. But returning to school and Robotics aren’t the only challenges Freya faces after the fire. In fact, the hard part has just begun. Her new reality is slowly unveiled as she recounts her family's loss with the guidance of her kindhearted and perceptive therapist, Belinda Sims. In doing so, she discovers that her strength can do so much more than just help her win.
The image of Freya is a general idea of how I pictured her as I was writing this book. Because I’m a writer, and not a fine artist :), I created the image using AI, describing her features and her specific style. I would love to bring these characters to life by replacing these images with those created by a real life artist!
